New Sweetgreen at University Center

Sweetgreen, known for its plant-forward warm bowls, salads and protein plates, has opened its second Irvine location, at University Center.
Fan-favorite dishes include the harvest bowl, steak mezze and miso-glazed salmon. Protein-packed chicken wraps, among them the saucy Korean barbecue, Cali bacon club and classic Caesar, are new.
Born at a farmer’s market nearly 20 years ago, the free-standing, counter-serve spot remains rooted in relationships with local growers. Its motto: “Building healthier communities by connecting people to real food.”
Sweetgreen’s posted supply chain spotlights partners such as Drake Family Farms for goat cheese and Dynasty Farms for organic shredded kale. Most ingredients arrive fresh each morning.
The eatery’s popular kale Caesar comes with roasted chicken or protein of your choice. The vegan Shroomami bowl stars portobello mushrooms and sesame tofu.
Celebrated sides include hummus and focaccia and the roasted sweet potatoes with hot honey mustard. Kids might opt for the Little Harvest or Mini Mezze. There are house-made juices, too. Menu entries specify protein, carb, fat and calorie content for those paying attention. The UC Irvine-adjacent location has a dedicated drive-through for pickup orders. There’s also a Sweetgreen at Irvine Spectrum Center.
