Best of Orange County 2025: best brunch
The readers of the Orange County Register have spoken: The county’s best place for brunch is The Cut Handcrafted Burgers at Westpark Plaza.
Each year, the Register asks readers to choose their favorites in the county in many categories.
Brunch is a recent addition at The Cut. “We’re heading into a newfound revival with this change,” founder Steve Kim says.
Highlights include fried chicken and waffles – Kim is well known for his chicken-focused Cluck Kitchen at The Square – and braised-brisket chilaquiles with fried egg and pickled peppers; bottomless mimosas are also a draw. Coming soon: breakfast burritos in six styles.
The Cut made another best list, arguably a more expected one, coming in at No. 3 on the Best Burgers list. Its elevated lunch and dinner creations include The Cut, made with a 60-day, dry-aged rib-eye patty, and the Grand Cut, with pork belly, bacon jam and havarti-and-comte cheese fondue.
The eatery, which has one location in the county, was surpassed in the Best Burger voting only by chains with 25 county locations or more.
Register readers deemed another restaurant at an Irvine Company center, Broken Yolk Café at Crossroads, No. 3 among the Best Brunches. The menu is celebrated for its seven kinds of eggs Benedict as well as omelets and skillets.
